    Sharper than the 12-24

Great little lens, is even usable on the Full Frame Bodies, if you use it as a 13- 18mm. beyond that range it vignettes. It also works using, the 1.2 crop setting. Very sharp considering the price. My only real complaint is that it has a plastic mount.

Good wide angle for a good price!

I really like this lens. I have always loved the look of wide angle lenses. I use it on my D7200, and even though you CAN´T turn off VR it is still usable with this combination - Even on a tripod. The manual actually states that it is suggested to leave VR on while shooting on a tripod anyways and I can confirm that I haven´t noticed any sort of motion blur when using this lens on a tripod with VR still on. The autofocus is also fast and silent and has been very helpful in the video department for that reason!

I bought this lens for real estate photography. It works wonderfully for it. I have used it for macro some and the pictures are great. I have been able to get closer and more in focus pictures with this than any other lens I have. It´s lightweight, quiet and fast. Focus is wonderful

Fast, crisp, low cost and light weight - fills a hole nicely!

This is undoubtedly a great lens. The cropped format gave us the benefit of increased reach and initially using only the centre of older lens. Later the quality of low cost zoom lens improved until there really is little need for a prime lens unless you are a “pixel peeper” – so good are the results.

Until recently, it wasn´t possible to get a low cost (this is 1/3 of the next Nikon) and low weight (this is half the weight) for an ultra wide lens. When I started out with a DSLR in 2002 I didn´t think it would take this long for Nikon to crack the stunning/quick/ low cost/low weight ultra wide zoom.

So hats off for first rate quality, practical product “for the rest of us” who want an ultra wide zoom that´s both good quality but also light and inexpensive. Probably the fastest focus too.

    Good Lens for Great Price

I bought this lens like a couple of weeks back and have used it for Astro Photography and I am pretty much satisfied with this lens performance, It took really amazing pics.

I am not sure how to focus to infinity would be been much better if they have that feature on the lens

Extremely happy with my wide angle adventure .....

I am now starting my ´´second phase´´ passion for photography. I began in the late 70´s - early 80´s with a Pentax ME Super and a 50, 28, and 80-200 lens outfit. I was having a great time with Kodachrome, Ektachrome, and different black and white films, enjoying landscape, street scene, macro, and all-around fun photography. Beautiful photos, but always a drag ´´waiting to get the film developed.´´ So after a long lay-off, I restarted my photography journey with various digital ´´point and shoot´´ cameras, never really being satisfied with the results. Then, a few months ago, with my wife´s support, I decided it was time to start anew, and bought a Nikon D3400 with the kit AF-P Nikkor DX 18-55 VR lens. Holy Cow ! A rediscovery of my passion for photography. I quickly bought the Nikkor 35 mm. DX F 1.8 prime, and the Nikkor AF-S DX 55-200 VR II lenses. Since then, I´ve been enjoying this wonderful hobby with a whole new perspective. Hip Hip Hooray !!!

So, to get to the main point of this review ..... the AF-P DX Nikkor 10 - 20 VR wide angle zoom. Absolutely incredible ! I am simply an ´´advanced amateur,´´ but I am getting gorgeous shots with this lens. From 10 to 20, across the full aperture range, my photos are sharp, crisp, vibrant, and FUN ! I am having a ball, truly enjoying everything about this lens (and my other three Nikkor lenses too !) while I´m constantly seeking out new ways to take photos of the world around me. For less than the price of a decent dinner for two, this lens is an incredibly smart investment. Don´t think twice ---- as long as you have a compatible new Nikon camera (please be sure that this lens will work with your camera !) ..... go out and buy it ! You´re gonna love it !

    Not what it could be

Posted by MachSchnell on July 7, 2017

I wanted so much to like this lens. Two other AF-P lenses (18-55 and 70-300) far outclass their pedigree. I am very surprised and pleased with both of those lenses. So I had high hopes for the little superwide 10-20mm. Unfortunately, it does not stack up. Wide open it is soft at all focal lengths. The only usable apertures are f/8 and f/11, and they are still soft on the edges and corners and marginal in the center. The lens focuses fast, and the VR works great. But overall, this one is a dud. Perhaps Nikon tried to do too much in a super small package.

This is a startlingly sharp lens!

I really cannot help but be stunned that this lens represent the confluence of low cost, sharpness and very fast focus! If you want a great little lightweight and small-sized wide angle lens, then you are in for a treat. I am using mine on a Nikon D5500 without a hitch. Just make sure you update the firmware to the lastest-and-greatest!
