not very strong
I would of thought at first that the hood made for a 3500$ lens would be a bit more durable. The hood cracked in 2 on it´s first fall from about 2 1/2 feet. Granted it landed on pavement, not much force to cause this to break on it´s first time out of the bag connected to the camera. Hopefully, newer versions will be made a slight bit more durable especially for a professional lens, which everyone knows tend to take a bit of rough handling.
